Giorgi Shaverzashvili graduated Tbilisi State Conservatoire with two majors: piano 1973 and composition 1984. Laureate of piano competition Baku, Azerbaijan (1972), Composers Competition, Moscow, Russia (1985). Since 2017 he is holding the position of Chairman of Composers’ Union of Georgia. He teaches the following classes at Tbilisi State Conservatoire: composition, symphonic score reading, instrumental studies and the basics of composition. I am also a member of the Academic Council of the conservatoire.
George Shaverzashvili is the author of instrumental concertos for piano and violin, symphonies, and various works for chamber ensembles
