The meeting between the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania in Georgia, Mr. Andrius Kalindra, and the Rector of the Tbilisi State Conservatoire, Nana Sharikadze took place On February 7th, 2023 at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire.
Diverse cultural and educational relationships already established between the Tbilisi state Conservatory and the higher music educational institutions of Lithuania were discussed. Among them Erasmus + ICM program. TSC has a long-standing relationship with the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater. Cooperation with them started with a bilateral agreement and continues as a partnership within the Erasmus+ program.
Special attention was drawn to the joint concert held on November 11, 2022 in Vilnius at the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society as part of the XVII International Festival “Pokrovskie Kolokola”. Under the inspiration of the Georgian folk music outstanding Lithuanian composer Jievaras Jasinskis created piece “ORERO” which was performed by Georgian and Lithuanian musicians. From Tbilisi State Conservatoire K. Vardeli String Quartet was taking a part. All the members of the quartet are students of TSC.
The event was held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Lithuania and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs of Georgia, the Council of Culture of Lithuania and the Department of National Minorities at Vilnius City Hall, as well as the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Georgia and the Embassy of Georgia in the Republic of Lithuania.
The same concert program will be performed in Tbilisi in the framework of reciprocal visit of Lithuanian musicians On April 8, 2023, at the Grand Hall. “PERPETUUM” by Lithuanian composer Leonas Somovas Will also be performed by the TSC Student Orchestra
