Tbilisi Fifth International Musicological Conference (TIMC) - “Interdisciplinary Perspectives in Musicology” 4-5 May, 2023

The deadline for registration, submission of proposals and short bio is 1 March, 2023 (Hybrid – in person and online).

Official languages of the conference are English and Georgian. Selected papers will be published after the conference at the electronic journal “Musicology and Cultural Science” .

Call for papers
The Tbilisi International Musicological Conference is biennial conference on recent developments and future trends in Musicology. Proposals on any topic related to the study of interdisciplinary perspectives in musicology will be considered. They can present issues of interaction of musicology with other fields (acoustics, performance, cultural studies, computer science, education, ethnology, history, linguistics, psychology, philosophy, sociology, etc.), interrelationships between music and other sciences, theory and the practices.

Proposals
Proposals from all areas of musicology and related music studies are invited for the following:

  • Individual presentation – 20 minutes with 10 minutes for discussion.
  • Panel presentations – 20 minutes each paper with 10 minutes per paper for discussion.

Proposals should be send in Word format (not Pdf). All proposals should include:

  • The author’s name and affiliation
  • A title of the paper
  • Indication of the format of the presentation (live/online; Individual paper/panel presentation)
  • Short bio – up to 100 words
  • Abstract – up to 200 words,
  • Contact e -mail
  • Equipment request

Timeline

Notification of acceptance: 15 March, 2023
